Wright Media was formed in 2014 but our story traces back nearly 75 years to 1949 when Jerry Greenwald founded Air Service Directory, which published one of the most widely known directories connecting buyers and sellers in the industry: Aviation Buyers Directory (ABD).
Jerry's sons, Rick and Alan, eventually joined the business and ran the company for the next several decades serving large marquee clients and small businesses, many of whom remain valued clients to this day. Like many other traditional publishing firms, the Internet threatened the core business of ABD, so Rick and Alan responded by creating ABD Online, the industry's first-ever part-number-searchable-database, a two-sided platform that digitally brought together buyers and sellers of aircraft parts and MRO services. At the same time the company also created several new industry periodicals, including The Guide, Engine Air Magazine, Aviation Aftermarket Defense (AAD), and CONTACT! Magazine, to name a few.
In 2014, Wright Media was born taking a cost-effective, quality-driven approach to brand marketing. Today, Wright Media maintains trusted client relationships with many of the same companies who were valued customers decades ago.
